New publisher of The Moscow Times

04 August 2008Ekaterina Son will be appointed as new publisher of The Moscow Times as of September 1, 2008. Ekaterina runs Smart Money - the Russian-language business publication of the Independent Media Sanoma Magazines business editions portfolio.

Maxine Maters will be leaving the newspaper after four years of work. Maxine has agreed to stay on as a consultant until the end of 2008.

Ekaterina Son graduated from the Economics faculty of the Moscow state University in 1998.She began her career at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu audit.Ekaterina joined Independent Media finance department in 1997.She launched "Agrobusiness" b2b publication. She managed the b2b magazine "Financial Director", a joint project with Profmedia. Ekaterina worked as finance director and head of conference department for Business News Media (that publishes Vedomosti and SmartMoney).

newspaper in Russia published since 1992. The Moscow Times is the founding publication of the publishing company Independent Media-Sanoma Magazines.
