Kudrin Gets 7th Deputy

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin signed an order Tuesday appointing Alexander Novak as a deputy to Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin, a statement on the government's web site said.

Novak was serving as first deputy governor of the southern Krasnodar region, where he oversaw investment spending and financial programs, according to a statement on the Finance Ministry's web site. On Monday, the government appointed Oksana Sergiyenko as a deputy finance minister. (MT)

Rosatom to Spend $82Bln

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin approved a 2.1 trillion ruble ($82 billion) investment plan through 2015 for state nuclear holding company Rosatom, RIA-Novosti reported Tuesday.

Rosatom will receive 820 billion rubles from the federal budget and generate the rest from its own cash, the state-run news service said, citing a government order. (Bloomberg)

Yevroset Exec Arrested

Sergei Katorgin, Yevroset's vice president for economic security, was arrested at Domodedovo Airport on Saturday, the Investigative Committee at the Prosecutor General's Office said Tuesday.

"Basmanny District Court will soon press charges of extortion, exceeding authority and kidnapping," the committee said. Yevroset chairman Yevgeny Chichvarkin declined to comment on the arrest Tuesday. (MT)

GAZ Plans $287M Plant

Carmaker GAZ Group said Tuesday that it planned to invest 200 million euros ($287 million) in the construction of a large plant in Nizhny Novgorod that will start production in 2010.

The plant will produce 300,000 cars per year, including 45,000 Maxus light commercial trucks and 255,000 Gazel trucks, spokesman Oleg Gamov said. Construction will be financed mainly by GAZ's own funds. (Reuters)

Sistema Starts Work in India

Sistema said Tuesday that it has started offering mobile phone services in India, where it aims to have 35 million customers by 2012.

Sistema's Shyam Telelink unit began operating in the state of Rajasthan under the Rainbow brand, the company said. (Bloomberg)

RusAl Wins LUKoil Ruling

United Company RusAl said Tuesday that it won a court ruling that obliges LUKoil to deliver oil coke in line with an outstanding contract.

The Moscow City Arbitration Court made its ruling after RusAl complained that LUKoil failed to supply 20,000 tons of the fuel in April, RusAl said. LUKoil spokesman Vladimir Semakov said the company was not immediately able to comment. (Bloomberg)
